Mission Statement: “Our mission is to promote mental health awareness among Black/African American seniors by exploring their unique challenges and experiences. We aim to inspire positive change by amplifying diverse voices, sharing evidence-based strategies, and creating a safe space for dialogue, education, and support.”

Vision Statement: Our vision is to create a community-driven platform that fosters awareness, understanding, and support for the mental well-being of Black seniors. We aim to empower individuals by providing valuable insights, resources, and stories that promote mental health and resilience.

According to a recent analysis by the Commonwealth Fund, older adults who report experiencing discrimination when trying to get health care are disproportionately people of color, and they are almost twice as likely to report having a mental health diagnosis, like anxiety or depression, than those who have not experienced discrimination.
